Qs vs. A/K
I've got pocket Qs early in a tourney. The preflop action tells me my opponent has A/K. The flop is rags. Do I check? Bet? Go all in?

Re: Qs vs. A/K
bet big unless you're in EP and think you can work a check-raise. Why on earth would you even consider checking here and giving him a free draw to beat your very vulnerable hand?

Re: Qs vs. A/K
Okay. Full details. I pick up Qs in early position. Blinds are 10/20. Pokerstars tourney everyone starts with 1500 and it's very early. I raise to 100, guy reraises to 180, minimum reraise. I raise min and he reraises again min. I'm almost sure he's got A/K and will play it aggressively. Flop is rags and I'm first to act. If I go all in he's sure to fold. If I bet average or small he's sure to call because a lot is in the pot already. So I check hoping he bets at it and he does. He goes all in, I call and he hits his A to win.
That's why I was wondering how other guys play it. It seems to me I could either go all in to take what's already in the middle or check in that spot looking for a monster pot. To just bet out is useless. What do you think? |
