Default What is a \"kicker\"?

Reads are minimal. And by "minimal," I mean "nonexistant." Anyone play this differently?

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: bdk3clash is BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG+1 posts a blind of $2. CO posts a blind of $2.
UTG calls, UTG+1 (poster) checks, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, 2 folds, CO (poster) checks, Button calls, SB completes, bdk3clash checks.

Flop: (8 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (8 players)
SB checks, bdk3clash bets, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, CO folds, Button calls, SB folds.

Turn: (7 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6 players)
bdk3clash bets, UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP1 folds, Button folds.

River: (10 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
bdk3clash bets...

From what I understand, kickers have something to do with Lee Jones.

Playing live tonight a bad player lost a hand because of his kicker for like the 4th time and said something about how his kickers suck. I asked, "What's a kicker" and a nice older woman explained that it's the second card. I really hope Rusted Corpse and sthief09 enjoyed that.

Hi han. Would you have bet the river 16 weeks ago?

Noone raised you so if another Q is out there then they are not keen on their kicker neither.

No other way to play it.

With top pair/no kicker and lots of opponents, I tend to check and see where a bet comes from. If it comes from early position, I tend to muck, especially if there are a few callers (or if it's raised, obviously). If the bet comes from late position, I'll check-raise and take it from there. Your way is fine too. Since no one has offered any resistance, I see no reason to take your foot off of the gas at any point.

I check the flop, check-raise a late bet and fold if there's an early bet and callers. I don't agree the only way to play this is bet-bet-bet. I check this flop and see what happens.
