Default Fold for one more bet with rivered bottom pair in big pot?

Party 5/10. No reads. UTG limps, MP raises, Button cold-calls, and I call in the SB with A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. BB comes along, as does UTG. 5 to the Flop, 5bb.

Flop: Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I lead, BB and UTG call, MP raises, Button folds, the rest of us call. 4 to the Turn, 9bb.

Turn: Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Everyone checks to Button who bets. Only I call. 2 to the River, 11bb.

River: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

I check, Button bets, I ???

Call

You know you have seen people play AK like this before.

I usually call in this situation until I know the player wont make "moves"

Getting 11:1, this migh be a +EV play over the long run but maybe not.

Either way...close enough to call you are already there.

I called, and he had AK. The 2+2 maxim holds true once again: Don't fold decent hands for one bet in big pots.

Why no 3bet on the flop. Atleast one of the callers will probably call.

I also like the three bet on the flop.

5 opponents have seen this flop. There is an excellent chance you will have to show down the best hand. The only reason I see to 3 bet is to clear out the better aces. Also with 2 cards in the zone, you are going to get played with. I check the flop and possibly value raise if I get a couple callers in position.

Especially against players who fold on the flop and then come back into play to bet on the turn.
