Default LAG Tendencies

I think I'm headed for the Dark Side. How's this?

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG raises, 3 folds, Hero 3-bets, 5 folds, UTG calls.

Flop: (7.50 SB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets, UTG calls.

Turn: (4.75 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets, UTG calls.

River: (6.75 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets, UTG calls.

Final Pot: 8.75 BB
Main Pot: 8.75 BB, between Hero and UTG.

Care to be more specific?

The 3-bet preflop? The aggression post-flop? What?

I'm not joking around... I want your opinion.

Pre-flop = fold.

You pounded pre-flop, flop, and turn - so I don't see the point of the river bet. Show the Ace, hope its good.

ATs against a UTG raiser, with no other cold callers, is an easy fold. You're looking for multiway action to achieve the maximum value from that hand, and heads-up I don't think you're hitting your flush enough to make this a +EV play.

As for the rest of the hand itself, while your opponent is showing no strength, do you really think you're ahead? What are people raising with UTG generally that you are ahead of? AA, KK, QQ, TT, AK, AQ....you're behind to all of them. So check the river, if not the turn too.

Come back to the light side...the power of the force is strong with this one.

Preflop I'd lean towards folding, 3 betting may be ok here.

I want to say check the river through, but the only pre-flop raising hand I see you beating at that point is KQ. So if you can steal this pot with a bluff 1 in 7 times, bet it. Unfortunately he called this time and I think your beat.

I though about a bet on the river for the reasons you mentioned, and agree he is almost definitely behind. However, I really think this is one of those times the best course is to back off.

Thinking through this point a little more, I would say the only times I'd 3-bet this is as an isolation play against a maniac. You don't mention UTG's tendencies, so I still think the fold is the better play.

There is only one preflop raising hand that I see you beating on this river, and it's KQs. This is too laggy by far, especially against a passive opponent (who reads like a calling station).

I have to agree with your instincts and other's posts. You've gone too far here jedi!

This is a preflop fold situation. Based on the preflop raise from UTG, I don't see any way that you can figure that you are ahead here at any point. The only real shot I can think that you have of being ahead here is if UTG has KQs. I don't think I want to be wagering so much heads up on that hope.
