My first 100 S&Gs
I recently finished my first 100 $10+1 on Party. Here are the stats.
1st- 15 2nd- 19 3rd- 12 4th/10th- 54 IT$ 46% RoI 41.82% Profit/tourny $4.60 Total profit $460 I am very happy with my stats the only thing that bothers me is that when I get to heads up I am losing more than winning. I know some of the these losses came when I was a very small stack when it got down to the final 2 but I really think that heads up is a major leak in my game. I would really like to know how I can improve my HU play and become a more profitable player. Other than that I think my stats look pretty good and I would like to hear what you think. OGRE |

These stats look pretty good to me. I would be looking to move up to the 20+2s and see how that goes...

Re: My first 100 S&Gs
I am planning on moving up to the 20+2 level probably after i play another 100-200 more 10+1's.

Re: My first 100 S&Gs
I think that these are excellent stats! I don't personally think that your number of wins is too low. I think I had 9 for my 1st 100, so I'd be delighted with your win %.
I think that it is probably normal for you to end up heads up with the smaller stack, as you are probably often not playing as many hands as the person you end up heads up against. As far as advice, I'm still looking for happiness on that. I'm having better luck with pushing pushing pushing when 10xbb or less, and getting a bit fancier with more, but not much. I'm probably pushing the top 30-40% of my hands at all times, and I'm typically playing all-in-or-fold unless I've found a pattern in my opponent's play. Good job! |

Re: My first 100 S&Gs
My sense is that your results suggest that from a skill level you are ready to move up. The bankroll question is one you will have to answer for yourself.
I am working through my first 100 SNGs playing 5-10 a week. My ITM is low 40s, although I feel like I have been improving. |

Re: My first 100 S&Gs
You have good numbers getting into the money...........My only advice on heads up play would be to drop your standards preflop, and be aggressive with your high cards.....When all the money is in preflop, the highest card wins the most, so offsuit aces and kings become very profitable, against hands that may seem more enticing.....(QJ...any suited cards, etc)

What do you estimate your profit/hour is at these things?

Re: My first 100 S&Gs
I'm pretty sure that with $800 in starting chips at PP and the blind structure used, even the very best player cannot expect to have a statistically significant difference between firsts, seconds, and thirds. If somebody wants to argue that, then please submit more than a 500 SNG sample proving otherwise.
ITM is what its all about at the $33 and below level, in my opinion. I just moved up to the $55's, and I think the extra chips may affect that condition, but i'm not sure yet. Unfortunately, there's no reason to believe that 46% ITM is sustainable... but the good news is that if you have a 46% ITM after 100 SNG's, you are almost certainly playing winning poker. So, I agree with the others... Great job! Now move up and play a few hundred to test your mettle. Play the right way, Irieguy |

Re: My first 100 S&Gs
Great Stats! About your worry over the distribution between 1st and 2nd -- it would be bad if you had a lower winning percentage and always started with an equal amount of chips heads-up, but a lot of times that's not the case. Tracking my own results, I know there were several times when I get to heads-up down 3:1 or 4:1 in chips, so winning with those odds are much more difficult.
