I don't think I would have capped the flop but if I had led the flop and it was raised I certainly would have 3 bet it. As played you took control of the betting which is always a good thing.

I would be most worried about the CO who was cold calling everything. This normally means a big draw to me. The only big draw on the flop is the straight. I'm guessing he had QT and that was plenty for him to call down.

I think a better line would be to lead the flop and hope the BB raises which will confront the 2 remaining players with a double bet. By check raising you only tie the other players to the pot.

i like this line

i prefer to check raise the flop - the stronger my hand the more inclined i am to check raise - i dont have a power house but enough to adopt my usual plan - with 3 way action on offer i also cap the flop

i think raising pre-flop is a reasonable proposition

True. However, I always try to thin the feild as soon as possible in large pots. Maybe I'm overusing this concept though...
