-EV in a HUGE way Long Term

As an occasional thing, could be either way like any other session... You definately play more agressively and make much more ballsy calls in tournaments (sometimes good - sometimes bad)

I don't play drunk, but I probably play about half my hands high. I think it increases my concentration on the tables, but sometimes it causes problems when I have to change winamp or a CD while 4 tabling!

I've lost big playing drunk, but one time I blacked out and woke up the next morning to find an extra $275 in my account... that was fun.

Wow, I would highly recommend emptying out your account to Neteller before going out drinking. Although that is pretty funny.

i got drunk during a home tourney once.
messed up one of my deals (dealt the flop twice) and they stopped me from dealing any further.

However, I did end up winning the whole thing which was nice.

that was the last time i ever got drunk while playing.

I've seen too many people piss away too much money at cash games drunk.

Last time some guy dropped about a grand before running out of money in his wallet. I was sad I couldn't get into a hand with him.

i agree... because getting money from neteller into your poker account is extremely difficult.

I believe it is -EV and do not recommend it. That said, I've had some of my biggest wins being shnockered. I guess you have to define drunk. California legal limit? Then I probably play better because I lose the natural internal fear. Any more than that and aggression is so high that I make dumb moves. Some are profitable. Some are not. Kind of evens out for now, but long term, I think I'll lose more if I continue to do that. Maybe much more if it were a habit.

I keep random records on all sorts of random things from time of day that I played, what I was wearing when I played, and what I did when I played, and I actually have quantifiable evidence that I have superior results when I'm drinking (i.e. I'm not drunk, I'm simply sipping on Drink X) vs. when I'm not drinking.

I have a feeling it has more to do with people seeing you with a drink and automatically assuming that your raise now means 25-offsuit when, in fact, it just means what it always means.

I seriously don't recommend most to drink while they play as drinking in some people does affect various mental functions, whereas in me it just makes me funnier and makes my eyesight better so that I can spot more attractive women.
