Limit 8/b hand
I am not sure if I over played this or not -
Ultimate Bet 0.25/0.50 Omaha/8 (10 handed) converter Preflop: Beavis is SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, MP3 calls, CO folds, Button raises, Beavis 3-bets, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP3 calls, Button calls. Flop: (18 SB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] I think my raise here was a bad move, the pot was big, and I had a few backdoor draws - I was actually hoping to lose someone - should have known better. (6 players) Beavis bets, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP3 calls, Button raises, Beavis calls, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP3 calls. Turn: (15 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (6 players) Now, picked up a backdoor low, so I figure I am not going to chase anyone out, and I am probably getting quartered, so bet to leave people in. Beavis checks, BB checks, UTG+1 checks, UTG+2 checks, MP3 bets, Button raises, Beavis calls, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP3 3-bets, Button calls, Beavis calls, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls. Wow! River: (33 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6 players) Again, I hit the low, but I doubt my AA is good for the high - so lets not lose anyone. Beavis checks, BB checks, UTG+1 checks, UTG+2 checks, MP3 bets, Button calls, Beavis calls, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 folds. Final Pot: 38 BB Main Pot: 38 BB, between BB, UTG+1, MP3, Button and Beavis. > High won by MP3 (19 BB). Low won by Beavis (19 BB). Results below: Beavis shows As 2c Kd Ad (Low: 6, 5, 4, 2, A | High: one pair, aces). BB shows 2d Kc 4h Jh (High: two pair, jacks and fours). UTG+1 shows 3d 2s 2h 8c (Low: 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 | High: straight, six high). MP3 shows 8d 7h 9h Qd (Low: 8, 7, 6, 5, 4 | High: straight, nine high). Button shows Js Tc Qs Ac (High: one pair, jacks). Outcome: MP3 wins 19 BB. Beavis wins 19 BB. Probably hard to analyze a hand with players this bad, but any thoughts? |

Re: Limit 8/b hand
Preflop:
I would tend not to 3-bet in this situation at least not at this limit. With better position, or same hand double suited, sure Am I giving up EV here? . But then, I don't really see that this is a problem with it overall. Flop: I would probably check/call. You have nothing but backdoors here but I think pursuing the hand is woth it given the pot size. Everything else appears to be fine. |

Re: Limit 8/b hand
At this limit, it seems that bad players are playing bad hands for any amount of bets. Therefore, your 3 bet is not too bad. I normally would not due to position, but here I say go for it
I would check call the flop and the turn due to the size of the pot and pot odds. On the river, I would probably bet out. While obvious to any conscious player that the nut low is made, probalby the number of callers would be about the same. Should there be a late raise by the high hand, then I would just call. As you say, the players here are terrible. Look at the hands they called 3 bets pre flop. When you make the nuts, punish them. PS - I find that players up to 4-8 and even 6-12 will be just as bad. That is what makes low limit O/8 so profitable. |
