Default M otor City poker room

I'm a regular Greektown No-lim player in Michigan. I heard Motor City opened a room and before I head out there I was looking for a little background info on what to expect... How's the action, what's the room like, smoking allowed, what are the big stacks like, how're the management/dealers, etc? I make it out to detroit once a week or so, and was curious, in general, is the change of venue worth the effort? I'm comfortable with the surroundings and players at greektown, and aside from occasional management incompetence, enjoy the play. Any info would be helpful.

"occasional management incompetence"

Occasional like my ex-wife occasionally cheated on me.

lol... thanks Mike Mcdavis! Still, they geek-town still has a pretty good core of dealers... lets forget the trainies and blackjack dealers that are still learning, but the real dealers get in 30 hands an hour at the no lim table, depending on how long it takes the players to call the big bets(which really cut into the overall time.) Thanks for the post though, bro!

Aimee and Rodney can't make up for a room full of incompetents.

Have you played anywhere except Detroit? If not, don't ever do it, or you'll never be able to tolerate the return.

I like you already, mikey. Yeah, I've played new orleans, florida, chicago, and pretty much everywhere in michigan, and while this list isn't short, sadly the number of competent poker rooms I've been in leave the geektown in the top three... It's very depressing really. I've had three vegas vacations trumped due to circumstances... oh, how I dream of a real room, with competence a-plenty. alas, for now I am stuck in this barren wasteland. one day, though, I won't need to put up with them. Take care.

I had heard that motor city's poker room was much nicer than greektown, but that they have fewer tables and, since its new, a long wait.
