Default Ho Hum Hand : AKs in the CO

Party's 15, 8-handed. It's folded to me in the CO and I raise with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. The Button folds, a fishy loose aggressive SB calls, a decently tight but a little too passive BB calls. 3 to the flop for 6 SB's.

Flop comes: J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

SB bets, BB raises. I 3-bet, SB calls, BB calls. 3 to the turn for 6 BB's.

Turn comes: T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Checked around.

River comes: T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

SB bets, BB calls, I fold.

GoT

Did you consider folding the flop?

I like it. But i've been playing pretty aggressively, probably overaggressive, lately so i could be wrong.

Calling, Raising, and Folding all seem pretty close on the flop. Rest of the hand looks fine.

Calling seems awful. Raising is fine to try and clean up your outs and take a free card, once SB calls 2 more cold you're done here unless you improve.

I lean most toward 3 betting also, but I don't think calling would be awful. After I thought about it, I don't think folding is close. But I think it's close between raising and calling. Someone will probably prove me wrong though.

I like 3 betting here, as it cleans your outs, and paralyzes the other players into giving you a free card on the turn.

oh BTW- I would probably fold to a turn bet unimproved.

Well played.

No one ever folds a pair when they have already put a bet in on that street in these games, this 'clean up your outs' has no benefit if they have a pair with an ace or a king kicker the only way you are getting them to fold it is if you invent a way to shoot people over the internet.

I think calling 2 is really bad... you're getting 3-1 on your call and you could be reverse dominated quite easily due to the proliferation of calling with crap aces from the blinds in these games. I don't like 3-betting that much, though it's much better than calling. I would normally fold in this situation unless I had a good read on these two players and knew they both bluff too much.

There's a bet, passive guy raises, so you make it 3 with overs? I'm usually just folding this flop. If you're gonna stay in though, raising is far better than calling. I'd say that in this spot i'm 80% fold 20% raise never call. The turn and river are very straightforward.
