Last week I'm playing in a NL tourney at Hollywood park. I wasn't in this hand, but I found it to be one of the strangest things I've seen in a tournament.
Here's what happened. The details of the bets and raises are a bit blurry, but the general story is true, if not completely unbelievable. The cards are dealt, one guy in MP makes it 200. Another guy raises it to 400, and the BB tries to make it 800. That's when the dealer, an Asian woman who apparently was new on the job, chimes in and says "No 800. He cap already." The whole table just sort of sits silently for a second, wondering if we heard her correctly. The BB, probably thinking the dealer is confused (she just sat down) says, "But we're playing no limit." Here's where it gets strange. The dealer responds "I know it's no limit, but he cap already." Now everyone starts up on her..."There IS no cap. It's NO LIMIT." She continues that she KNOWS it's no limit, but there is still a cap. WTF?? The floorman finally had to come over and explain to her that no limit means just that. She finally got it, but she still looked confused. Strangest thing I've witnessed at a tournement. Just thought you all might want to have a laugh |

She probably think there was no limit on the betting amts and think there was only some limited number of raises.
