Maniac turning me to laggy as well?

I have pretty good reads on both players here- button is a reasonable ABC player and SB is a total maniac- 70% VPIP and 30%PFR. He likes to 3bet almost any hand (hand beforehand was j9o) to get heads up. People have been capping his 3bets most of the time due to general disrespect of his play. Anyway:

I know the preflop call is kind of loose, but I was thinking about capping it, but that seemed way to LAGgy...I don't like that part of the play.

My plan was see what fell on the turn, hoping to get ABC player off a hand like JJ or TT.

Am I just spewing chips here? Did I actually have the best hand? The only hands I can actually beat that are capped are AK at the moment, but I was hoping to get a fold from JJ or TT. In thinking about this hand, I think I got very lucky not to just spew about 5BB to KK or AA to the button. This hand feels like a bad suckout, and it bothered me. Someone smack my wrist and tell me not to do it again.
