Re: Cold-calling Preflop with T,9s
preflop: i would be more inclined to make this coldcall with better position relative to the raiser, espcially since im most likely to flop a draw...with better position and more callers between you and the raiser then you can get better value for your draw while not facing as many players with multiple bets...i think your call is fine though...
postflop: fine, i doubt your pair is good here enough to justify a call... |

[/ QUOTE ] His position relative to the raiser is fine. If he flops a big draw or a big hand, he can bet out and get a lot of equity in the pot. If he flops something like top pair, he's in decent check-raising position. |

Re: Cold-calling Preflop with T,9s
Why? This is almost a hand he should cold call for 2 bets anyway with at least 5 total people seeing the flop, so why not when it's discounted 25% in the SB? Assuming the BB folds and the limpers don't limp-reraise he's getting 19:3, or better than 6:1 on this call. If the BB calls it's 7:1.

Re: Cold-calling Preflop with T,9s
I think I would usually fold this preflop for 5/6 of a BB, unless I knew that COs raise was likely weak.
90% of the time you won't see 2 diamonds or an oesd, I use this as a guide to see if I want to put chips into the pot preflop. |

Re: Cold-calling Preflop with T,9s
Start out with the ' no read light on'. Not even for a basic table texture. When coldcalling, especially out of position, I'd like to know, in general, something about the limpers along with the raising standards of the raiser. If I flop a top pair, could that be good enough to hold up? I also want to know about how the players play postflop. Will they go too far with hands. Will they chase/payoff. Which is the type of opponents you need for this hand, imo.
I don't like to play that much in the dark. Without more of the above info, I'd rather fold and wait 'til I know the table better. You can easily be trapped with this hand from this position. Not saying I'd never coldcall this. Even though this would be about the limit as far as how low i'd go with a suited connector for a coldcall. I want more info before doing so. T9s really isn't that strong of a hand. Also understand, your implied odds take a hit by coldcalling. b |

Re: Cold-calling Preflop with T,9s
I think the preflop call is dicey. I'd probably fold here, but I understand why you called. I just wouldn't do it.
Post flop: I like it. Maybe just call the flop 3-bet since you aren't drawing to the nuts, but I can see the value in capping as well. River fold looks correct to me. |
