how is the Dell E193FP monitor?
This is a 19" monitor, +$314 when putting a Dimension 3000 together on their web site.
I'm not sure I want to spend $200 or $250 more than this for the 2001fp everyone talks about. Will I be able to get 4 tables without overlap on the 19"? Any pros or cons to this particular monitor? Thanks much... |

Re: how is the Dell E193FP monitor?
I'm guessing this is just a regular old CRT.
A 19" CRT monitor behaves more like a 17" LCD-screen as far as viewing space goes. If it has screen-res up to 1600x1200 then you will be able to 4-table with no overlap but the tables will be MUCH smaller than the LCD. I don't have one of the 2001 FP's yet....but there's a reason they come so highly recommended. You can either battle with a regular old CRT that weighs 700 pounds and have the tables be kinda small (assuming the res goes up to 1600x1200....which on a bargain-basement system is not a guarantee of course) or see the games pretty clearly on an LCD screen. |

It's a 19" LCD monitor. It has a resolution of 1280 x 1024, which means you *will* experience overlap when trying to play 4 tables.

Yup, I have this monitor. It is a nice monitor but not good for multi-tabling. I just bought it one day when dell was having a sale, only to find out it doesn't support 1200x1600 afterwards.

Same here. I bought the E193FP first and then have to buy the 2001FP for 1600x1200 resolution. It's $200 more.

Re: how is the Dell E193FP monitor?
A 19" CRT that does 1600x1200 (perfect 4 table for Party skins) costs about $200. I suggest the Samsung SyncMaster 997DF (BestBuy, ~$200). So you have a choice.. save a bit now and splurge once you make a bit playing, or bit the bullet now and spend less total over time.
