Flopped sets are gold...
Two hand examples....am I getting too aggressive on my flopped sets?
Hand 1....Villian has been attempting to steal blinds all day...40 hands...40% VPIP, 32% raise. Re: Flopped sets are gold...
Hand 1 Is perfect, I don't know why you posted it. Hand 2 I pot the flop as you did in hand 1, but this also worked out well for you since you got a nonscary turn. In both situations you were right to get it all in when you did

Re: Flopped sets are gold...
I thought about raising the flop but I thought I'd take my foot off the pedal and milk this lag for all he had. Even if he hits a flush, I'm drawing to a boat.

Re: Flopped sets are gold...
No other takers?
Hand 1, villian showed a set of 9s. Hand 2, villian showed a set of hooks. I've always been under the assumption, moreso in 6 max, that if someone flops a higher set than me I'm going to get stacked. These two hands just happen to be the last two times I flopped a set which begs the question...is my original assumption wrong and I'm playing these too aggresively or do I just chalk this up as bad luck and move on? (I think I'd be an idiot to lay either of these down but I'm looking for confirmation of that) |

[/ QUOTE ] The lag isn't the problem so much, its the cold caller in between. Also, you can't put too much stake in a boat draw, do you really think between those 2 giving action that some of the aces and jacks aren't dead? I'd say there is probably only 1 ace left, 2 at most, and a jack could be dead as well for all you know. Re-raise the flop, you'll likely get one of the two players tagging along, unless you have an exceptional read, but if so it's a read we don't have and can't help you with |

Re: Flopped sets are gold...
there is no place to lay either down. only time you worry abuot set over set is if you played PP lower than 4's OOP to a raise and have other cold callers, which is why I don't play those EP against decent players. 8's tho you can't worry about that, its just tough luck.

Re: Flopped sets are gold...
I'm LAGgish, but would anyone agree with me that it's +EV to play any and all PP's UTG in NL25/NL50?
Trying to figure out if I should cut off the bottom 3 PP's or so. |

[/ QUOTE ] I usually play all PPs if it is less than 5BBs to enter the pot and villain has at least 50BBs in his stack. Otherwise, I will play it ABC. |
