Default 5/10 confusion with 75s

5/10, great game, action. This player and I have a history of trying to outplay each other, show each other bluffs, aggressive raises etc... he is loose/aggressive but sometimes does funky stuff. I have a less than abc image. He has 2k and I cover.

2 limpers, I limp with 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], maniac makes it 35 to go, 4 callers and I call.

Flop A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Checked to maniac he bets 15, I make it 70, he makes it 235, I call.

Turn 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

I check/call 300

River Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

I check/call 735.

Unless you KNOW he has AA, this is played finely.

i push the rest on the river I think, he will spite call it most likely, and just in case he raised with a 5 in his hand, you will most likely split it up.

I think he pays off with AQ/AK far more often than he has a hand that beats you.

I agree 100% I'm pushing on the river and expecting to be called by a big ace.

Yeah, I was wondering why the rest of it didn't go in on the river . . . he's calling a river CR w/ his AK most of the time and AQ every time and as fsu mentioned, so much more likely he has one of those than AA. I really couldn't see him having QQ here, but you did say he was capable of some funky ass [censored]. I still put the rest of it in anyway. The check-call, check line on the turn and river was fantastic, by the way. Sucks if he had AA, obviously. But nice hand.

based on this, you should've gotten the rest of it in on the river. when you c/r the flop, he's gotta think you're just f-ing around, so his reraise means something like, "you are so f.o.s., you don't have a 5. flush draw? i got a big ace, i'm charging you."

then, as neon said, your check-call/check on the turn and river was beautiful, you played it exactly like a flush draw. you trapped him but good, now get the rest of his stack.

Results?

I find it odd that he would value bet a pair of ace on the river...

Does he have that good of a read on you that you have a lower ace?
