bkroll building question
I wanted to see how people feel to best build their bankroll, preferably through personal experience.

Re: bkroll building question
300bb at whatever limit you can afford. Slow and steady wins the race. I built my roll from 300$ at .5/1, which was staked by Piz0wn3red!!!, a poster here.

Re: bkroll building question
The variance in SNG's is smaller, hence the BKroll requirements smaller. A good player can move through the limits very quickly.

Re: bkroll building question
I alway thought the best way to build a b/r is to bonus whore. Check out homers thread in the internet forum.

Re: bkroll building question
Whatever you're best at. I started with a $50 roll playing the SNGs (5/1 then 10/1), then built it to $400 and jumped into 1/2. Haven't looked back since. (say what you will about the Bankroll size, it seems to me that 300BB is excessive for the micros, and experience has not taught me otherwise. If/when it does i'll know you guys WERE right after all.)
I'd also reccomend bonus whoring to build a bankroll, i didnt know anything about it at the time. (I whore a lot now tho.) I'm currently at 1/2 6-max and 1/2 full, about to jump to 2/4 full! |

Re: bkroll building question
On SNG's you could go from $100.00 playing 10/1 tables to $500.00 50/5 tables within hours. But its just dependent on how much risk you and how comfortable you are with your bankroll. But if you play high risk and come up short early on in your session you need to stop and go down a few limits ASAP. Its better to play 4 10/1 tables then 2 20/2 when your bankroll is low obviously.
Low risk SNG's- I would say 15-inf. buy-in's. High risk- 4-10 Buy-in's. But be prepaired to jump levels a lot unless you play strong and get the cards early on and build up the bankroll. P.S. cash games are alright too. Keep it up everybody. |

Re: bkroll building question
Party NL 25 is so soft that you can eight table and peddle the nuts and build your roll with very little variance.

Re: bkroll building question
In my experience, SNG's are nice fall backs that offer a nice return and relatively low variance. OTOH, they get to be extremely boring.
Ring games are nice. I especially like the party 5/10 short for building a bankroll when you can afford it. Compared to the 10/20 short and 15/30 full, it is incredibly loose passive, and you can earn at a pretty good clip there. I think playing MTTs is a great change of pace too. You can make some nice scores for minimal risk, and it breaks the monotony. (Heck, I built most of my early bankroll on the $25 nightly rebuy at RV, and the party super/specials have been very good to me, too.) I voted for S&G, but I really should have put other. |

Re: bkroll building question
Play as many tables as you feel comfortable at as high a limit as you are rolled for till you get a roll for 5/10. Then 4-6 table the Party 5/10 6max till you have the roll for 15/30, moving up to the 10/20 6max in between if you like.
Combine this with a healthy rake-back deal and bonus whoring, and you can start with a 600 stake at 1/2 and get up to 15/30 within 6 months playing a decent amount. |
