Cardrooms in Europe
Danenania and I are taking a trip to Europe this summer for a writing workshop among other things and we will be looking for cardrooms in Europe to play mid-high limit hold em (15/30-40/80) and lower limit stud. We'll be starting in Athens and heading to Prague, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Zurich, Paris, Rome, Madrid and Lisbon from may 15-July 1rst. We are also willing to deviate a bit if need be. Anyone have any suggestions?
We'd also might be interested in meeting up with anyone that lives around there. |

Re: Cardrooms in Europe
I'm in Vienna and play at the Concorde Card Casino. They held a E-WSOP qualifier here a month or so ago, and some of the posters here flew in for it. I think it's on TV back home now.
It's a pretty good place, filled with regular old Austrian men. They're a mix of weak-tight, loose-aggressive, loose passive and of course, some good ones. There is normally one low-limit holdem game running (3/6 normally, but also 4/8 or 5/10 depending on the mood), and sometimes two or three on busier nights. I play these games due to BR problems...i.e. crappy exhange student worker salary. For the higher limit crowd, there is often a 10/20 or 15/30...actually I'm pretty sure "often"="always" on the right nights. I just don't know what those are specifically. Sorry I can't be more helpfull on the high limit games, I just don't pay much attention. If you want to change it up a bit, there is almost always a low and/or high limit 7stud game. Also, quite frequently there's a blind2 or higher Pot Limit Omaha game going. Sometimes they've even got "weirder" high limit (~100/200) games like razz or draw lowball running. And finally, check out there website for event updates. There are lots of tourneys every week, from a €10 NL R+A to €100 NL Freezeout. And of course, all those numbers are in Euros. There is also Poker World, but I have never played there. CCC is jsut two bus stops from my work! Hope to see you here. Fire me a PM if you're interested, and I can look into the higher limit games. |
