Min betting. Most confusing play ever?
I was playing a few sngs and mtts last night (10+1's) and i found a recurring theme of minbetting by rubbish players. They didn't out play me with it, but what it DID do was confuse the [censored] out of me. Anyone ever used tried this? it works wonders with inducing a reraise from stronger players. Its an ugly play, but it is an unorthodox play. What do you guys think?

Re: Min betting. Most confusing play ever?
"Confusing" players is of minimal importance if it doesn't also serve another purpose. The only reason I can ever see myself minbetting is if A. the minbet is huge in proportion to stacks or B. I'm trying to make myself look like a donk. I'm not sure I've ever done the latter, but I'm sure some people like to.

Re: Min betting. Most confusing play ever?
I've played around with it in a few situations. The best one I've found is when I get a free flop from the BB 3-4 handed on a ugly paired board like 885r. I do it with or without a hand. The combination of the paired trashy board and wierd bet really seems to set off alarm bells. Picks up a remarkable number of pots and gets quite a few free turns and rivers with very little risk. Try it sometime you might like it.
Does this make me a donk? |

Check minraises are even worse.
I generally take minbets to be weakness, but min cr tend to be big hands. |
