Default 2/4 or 3/6 6max?

hey all you guys,

About a month ago I posted a thread where I asked for advice on what to do after crushing 1/2. I followed the advice of some of the posters and went and played 1/2 6max. I've played 4000 hands in the past month, (I don't multi-table), and I'm hitting it for 7.8BB/100 hands. My bankroll is a big fat cow. But I have a dilemma...

On my other thread someone said that once you move to 6max you will want to stay forever. I found that difficult to believe. Now I am a believer. So what do I do? Do I go back to full ring at 2/4 or take a hit at the 3/6 6max. The reason why I'm not sure about the 3/6 is that I'm worried that the much larger dollar amounts will cower me somewhat without the buffer of 2/4 first.
Any ideas?

Switch sites and play $2/4 6-max. I'm in the same boat as you, and the jump from $1/2 to $3/6 was too big for me to be able to play correctly. Three betting made me gulp, so I switched sites.

2/4 6 max at PokerStars is very beatable. The competition there seems to be loose pf and very weak post flop.

There's been some talking here praising Absolute, which is good for bonuses, but I haven't found the games to be particularly enjoyable (which may or may not be just from a lack of getting good cards)

Hi Adsman i don't play short but the party 2/4 full is a pretty sweet game(my current home).

Make the move to the party 2/4 game and actively seek out shorter tables (the best of both worlds). Also, the skills you've hopefully aquired playing 6max should have made you into a more complete full ring player who actually knows how to play well around the blinds.

Actually I'm beating Absolute for over 9BB/100 hands, but I heard that 2/4 6max there sucked. Perhaps I should go there...

I would not suggest making teh jump to 3/6. You have to play some 2/4 first. If you don't want to play full, which I didn't either, go to Stars and play 2/4 6max, the games there are really soft. Also, Paradise 2/4 5 max is pretty soft.
There are other sites which I'm sure are good for 2/4 6max, find them and play them, then work your way to 3/6. 3/6 and 2/4 are a lot different imho. And there is no comparison between 3/6 and 1/2 6max. 2/4 will get you ready for 3/6

Yeah, the 1/2 6max games there are very weak. The 2/4, though, has been giving me fits...so I've just been playing on Stars 2/4 while clearing bonii at Abs 1/2

What were the differences that you found between these two games?

I can't say anything concrete, really. Right now it's mostly having played 2K hands and not getting very many playable hands. It's just generally tighter, so not many chances to play suiteds/connectors on the button.
