Borgata - Columbus Day Weekend
I'm making a trek to see JM3 play on the Saturday night, followed by me playing after the show. How long are wait times in the room here and what is the policy for missing your name getting called? What I'd like to do is put my name on the list before the show and be playing soon after it's over.
I'll be looking to play 10-20, although I'd probably play at any limit lower while waiting for a seat, if necessary. Plus, will anyone else be around? I usually keep a marble next to my chips. |

Re: Borgata - Columbus Day Weekend
Borgata is packed on Saturday nights, but sometimes the wait isn't that bad. It kinda depends...10-20 should be shorter than, say, 2-5 NL or 3-6/6-12. You can put go down and check the room out bf the show and see what the lists look like. If there are like 7 people on it, don't bother and just come down after the show. You have nothing to lose though...if you miss your name, it is wiped off the list and lose your chance at a seat. I would think the wait for 10-20 should be less than an hour or so, but who knows...could be worse. If it's packed, Taj Mahal is 10 mins down the street and 10-20 is usually immediate (or quick) seating there.

Does that quick seating mean tougher games?

No, Taj has more tables. The games are absurdly soft (20-40 is also at both places).

Re: Borgata - Columbus Day Weekend
Thanks, Jeff. All your information has been very helpful so far!
Does parking cost money or does the casino comp it? Also, is it hard to get a cab from the casinos and are they expensive? |

Re: Borgata - Columbus Day Weekend
Parking does cost money, but not much (4 or 5 bucks depending where you are). Valet is free (besides gratuity when you get the car) so I recommend that. It's quick and easy (as well as safer if carrying cash, though self park isn't too bad on that front). The other thing about parking is..if you want to go to another casino, keep your parking receipt! This can be used to obtain free parking at another casino within a 24-hr period.
Cabs are cheap and easy and there is a cab stand at every casino (with minimal wait). They are $11 max to anywhere within AC (regardless of how many passenger). Jeff |

Re: Borgata - Columbus Day Weekend
Valet is free at both Taj and Borg, you simply have to pay the regular parking fee when you pick up your car (as well as tip the valet parker). Trop, I don't know. I've never waited more than 15 minutes for my car at either place. The only way I can imagine it being really bad is after a concert lets out or something.

Re: Borgata - Columbus Day Weekend
Do you still have to pay for parking if you're staying in the hotel? This weekend is the first time I'm staying at the casinos instead of somewhere in Absecon.
