I have a friend i want watch his progress tomorrow, but cardplayer does not list each player w/ their progress. Is there a site that will update every once in a while, showing every player and their stack sizes?

Have your friend step away from the table every few hands and give you a call, or pick a fight with Hellmuth. That way you'll have an update on your friend.

Unless your friend gets suddenly famous, Cardplayer won't be doing updates on them. Logistically, how is Cardplayer going to keep track of 2200+ people a day?

Easy. Just get WSOP to update everyone's chip counts once for a while (say at every level changes) in a computer system. Then make such data public.
I can build a site to show everyone's chip count in real time if data is available somewhere in raw format. Have a chip count once for a while is a good thing for WSOP to do. It will reduce cheatings and human errors. Online tournamenet providers always show chip counts in real time since it is easy for them to do. |

Easy. [/ QUOTE ] No it's not. I don't really see how it's worthwhile for the WSOP to even attempt going through the trouble of setting up a system for realtime chip counts. If someone else can make that case, then let me know. Best of luck to all those playing. |

Have you ever played in, watched live or had anything to do with a real live tournament with more than say, 500 players? |

Just put a computer chip in each poker chip, and have a scanner to scan each player chip pile to get a total. It take less than 30 seconds for each scan. Scan a player's ID and then his chip pile. Instantlly the data is in the computer. Most major retailers use scanner to manage their inventory. Many $5 toys have computer chips build in. WSOP just need to spend some money to go Hi-Tech. |
