Default ITM Play

I don't know if anybody has done this before but I suck at ITM play. So here I go.

Object: maximizing win rate (obviously)

Position: On the BB with AK (os or s, does it really matter?) with two players AI in front of you. Lets assume the button and sb are playing strategically sound and pushing/calling with sane ranges of hands in correlation to their stack sizes.

Assume that the blinds are at 150/300 and 200/400 for each hand. So answer them 2x if you care.

Question: When do you call?

1.
Button: 2667
SB: 2667
HERO: 2666

2.
Button: 2666
SB: 2666
HERO: 2668

3.
Button: 3000
SB: 4000
HERO: 1000

4.
Button: 3000
SB: 2500
HERO: 2500

Shameless bump, are all 4 of these calls? The first one is basically a question on ITM theory. Is risking taking 3rd when you have ~33% of the chips in play (and probably about the same % chance to win the hand in a race) really that smart when you can fold, garuntee 2nd, and still have a decent shot at 1st?

This is tough to answer. It depends on your feel/read. There's a good percentage of the time that you'll fold alot.

One scenario that comes to mind is if there's a donkey who calls allins too much, and he's the caller (acting second), then I might go ahead and play, but otherwise, I think it's difficult to call.

There are no rules....

I hate when I ask this question and the response every time is "YOU HAVE AK CALL!"

Is there any reasoning behind calling beyond the value of your hand? I mean I know AK is strong, and there is a very good chance you are way ahead. I would call the last 3 instantly but hand 1 is the one where I have question.

I find it hard to believe in situation 1 that calling with AK is correct.

Under your scenario of solid players I'm most likely folding. Even with not so solid players I'm probably folding. You gotta figure one of them has PP. I'm only calling if I'm low on chips and getting ready to be blinded out.
That's just me though. and these are my 2 cents

I hope you reread my response. I misread your OP.

There are 4 separate scenarios. You fold all of them?

The only one I might call is scenario 3. 1,2, and 4 i'm a lock for 2nd. why risk it? I know they say play for 1st, accept 3rd. But I'm guarenteed at least 2nd place in 1,2,4.
Thats just me though.
