I hate hands like this...
Can I do anything differently?

Re: I hate hands like this...
I can't see any other way to play it. I'd be suspicious of so many people calling with no obvious draw on the flop, but so many people play crappy aces or call down with any pair on the flop that you will make money in the long run with hands like these.

Re: I hate hands like this...
This looks fine to me. If you lost, the SB missed bets.
I can't really figure out what he had that beat you. I'm guessing AQ. (Though part of me wants to say 44.) Either way, he missed quite a few bets. (If he won, that is. Since you hate these hands, I'm guessing he did.) |

That said I should really stop tipping my hand in post titles. So do you think I should have raised the river? The fact that ALL 6 players called my flop raise it what made me gunshy. |

Re: I hate hands like this...
On the flop, it makes me cringe (not that you did anything wrong). But the pf raiser and flop bettor folded, so I'd say you might be ok. SB betting the river is a little scary, but I would still call it.

Re: I hate hands like this...
I don't raise the river.
He's been checking and calling, checking and calling, then all of a sudden a seemingly harmless card comes off and he wants to bet? He might make this play with a weaker Ace than yours, but I'm not sure how often that will be the case. The river bet out of nowhere is spooky though. Since you said you hated it, I'm probably using that to my advantage when it comes to reading his hand, however. Edit -- I'm not so positive about not raising the river without knowing you "hated" this. Ugh. What good am I, you ask? Good question. |

Oh, was I supposed to guess what he had? Ok, I'll say A9o.
