Two pair with AQ
Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (9 handed) converter
MP1 - solid player, very aggressive postflop. SB - average Party 1/2 player. Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 2 folds, MP1 raises, 4 folds, SB calls, Hero calls. Flop: (6 SB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, Hero checks, MP1 bets, SB calls, Hero calls. Turn: (4.50 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, Hero checks, MP1 checks. River: (4.50 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, Hero bets, MP1 folds, SB folds. Final Pot: 5.50 BB Results in white below: Hero has Ad Qh (full house, queens full of aces). Outcome: Hero wins 5.50 BB. I was trying to checkraise on the turn, but then a scare card came and I checked. Should I checkraise these kind of hands on the flop (even though I have an aggressive player in the hand)? |

Re: Two pair with AQ
You're ahead so often on the flop its not even funny. There's one combo of AA and QQ that beat you. Everything else is owned. You need to bet the flop, let aggressive MP1 raise and the typical SB coldcall.
Then bet the turn and bet the river. |

Re: Two pair with AQ
Check/raise the flop. Yes you really should be getting into the habit of playing your good hands hard on the flop. You have the best hand most of the time and the flop is where people will put bets in with weak hands.

Check/raise the flop. [/ QUOTE ] True that... I was hoping since MP was very aggressive postflop we may get the chance to 3-bet. Either way, check call no goot. |

What I wonder is, what do you do on the turn after he failed to do that? I just bet out and hope to hell someone has a Q or just can't let go of their hand. |

No way anyone is folding an ace in this spot. Why does everyone have a fascination with making tricky plays? I wen't though that phase myself (like 50k hands) and let me tell you it isn't the best way to get the money. Brad |
