Default I have been trouble playing overs, please critique my play

At least one or two very loose-passive players at the table.

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (8 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, Hero raises, 3 folds, BB calls, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls.

Flop: (8.33 SB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, BB folds, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls.

Turn: (5.66 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players)
UTG checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero checks.

River: (5.66 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)

Final Pot: 7.66 BB

I managed to get the free card I wanted....but is this really how I should have played the hand?

El standardo. You can't beat the overcall.

I think you played it perfectly. At least one of the LP players would have called you down if you bet on the turn anyway, so take the free card.

I call on the river if one person is in. But when it's two, a bettor can be bluffing, but a caller isn't.

It's tough to say because with loose players and a flop and turn like that, it's very possible that they may have paired up.

However, I would have bet the turn instead of taking the free card. You might get them to fold a better hand, and even if they don't you still have a fairly good chance of winning the pot with your overcards. Also, by betting the turn, you have a better chance of seeing the showdown for free, which is more valuable than seeing the river for free.

With two callers on a drawless board, I think any pair is calling him down. I think he's behind on the turn about 90% of the time, so a free showdown isn't worth very much when Hero has a few outs.

For these reasons, I would have also bet the turn. It depends on your read though. If these are extremly loose players there's a good chance your AK is still ahead. I would bet the turn unless I had a good read that these guys were solid players.
