Empire Poker gaurenteed $ MTTs...
Anyone ever noticed that in these tournies they always seem to get the EXACT number of entrants that is required to meet the gaurenteed prize pool? For example in a $50 MTT gaurenteed to have a $2500 prize pool... exactly 50 people join. Ive noticed this happen alot.... and it stuck me as beyond odd. Does anyone else notice this and have an explanation?

They open tables 5 mins before the registration is to end and generally they have enough players already signed up at that point that they open enough tables to cover the guarantee which caps entries at the exact guarantee. Feel better?

No.
Why would they put a cap on the tourney entrants, that's lame. |

I don't understand what you mean. Why would they cap the entrants at exactly their breakeven point? Every entrant they get over that point is money for them.

Re: Empire Poker gaurenteed $ MTTs...
Here is the idea. I will explain it more clearly. The way the Empire software works they open tables 5 mins before the tourney starts, there is a formula built into the software that tells Empire how many tables to open at this point. For math purposes we will say it is a guaranteed $1,000 and there are 60 people signed up 5 mins before the tourney, they generally seat 6 or 7 people at each table and leave the other spots open for late reg. So in this case you take the 60 signups and open 10 tables of 6 and leave 40 spots for late reg. If there was 100 5 mins before they would open up 16 tables, 12 with 6 players and 4 with 7 players and leave the rest for late reg. So they don't cap it per say but it generally works out that the players signed up with 5 minutes ends up opening up enough tables for the guarantee to be covered. I am sure they also have written code to make sure that if it is close they side with 1 more table for the guarantee. As any party skin, they fill up 100% of the late reg generally.
