KQo in a multiway pot (no hand)

Hey all, after reading the limit holdem section in ss2, Jen Harmon says that hands like AJo and KQ should be limped in if several people have already limped. I was in LP with KQo
and limped after like 4 limpers, long story short I ended up losing to bb who had k8 for two pair. Should I have stuck with ssh reccomendations and raised with it or should I have just limped and lost due to bad luck??? Any thoughts are appreciated.
