Default weird wireless problem

Ok so i have wireless on my labtop and the modem is in my roomates room. I have never had a problem with my connection before in my room or anywhere else in the apartment. Today though for no reason i couldnt connect in my room. When i took my labtop into the living room it started working. It will not connect in my room but it will in other places in my apartment. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Sounds like somehow you might be getting new interference in your room. Do you live in an apartment complex?

What channel is your apartment's wireless network set to use? Most wireless access points are set to use channel 6 by default. If so, someone else's device may be interfering in your room. Try changing the channel to 1 or 11.
