AKs runs into trouble - Should I have folded this on the flop?

Hi guys,

First post here - been reading for a few months and finally had what I found a very tricky/interesting hand.

Have only just moved up to SSNL at VCPoker with $0.05/$0.10 - I play a lot of SNG and MTT and have been working on my cash games for a while and so far have been doing okay.

I had this hand earlier tonight and got really stuck.

Villains preflop raise of $0.80 slightly worried and I would have probably thrown away AKoff but decided to call with my AKs. The flop gave me the flush draw which is where I started to get slightly trapped on the hand. ShellyGrez's flop bet was the one where I started to think about throwing the hand away and probably should have - I wasn't getting the odds for a call with the flush draw. I probably made a bad call here and Im hoping this is where I went wrong. The Ace on the turn only worsened my situation. I now had top pair and flush draw and from here on in I just lost it completely, flat calling villains's bets on 4th and 5th streets.

Am I right to think this should have been thrown away on the flop or was I right to call the $2 bet?

Standard play is to move all-in on the flop. The call route is fine and probably raise this river. Top two is a huge hand in this 10$ game.

Pot odds don't justify a call... I'd either re-raise on the semi-bluff or fold...

I tried to look at it putting aside knowing the outcome. My advice would have been raise the turn, fold to a push, and check behind on the river if no heart came.

Are 8x pf raises common here?
