Default QQ makes a set on the river. Would you do the same?

3/6 Pokerroom. Villain is tricky LAG. 5 handed, very loose crazy table.

I am OTB with Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

UTG limps, CO limps, I raise, SB folds, BB calls, UTG calls, UTG +1 calls.

Flop 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

UTG bets, UTG +1 calls, I raise, SB folds, UTG +1 folds, UTG 3 bets, I cap.

Villain 3 bets these situations with any piece, any draw.

Turn 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Villain bets, I call.

River Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

He bets, I raise, we go to the cap.

At this point I decide he has QT or a smaller set, so I cap. Would you raise or call here? Anyone fold this hand at any point?

Sounds like he had 89, but NH.

With position on the river, if he 3 bets, I might just call. I don't think a cap is that bad. You said he'd 3 bet the flop with a draw, would he continue on the turn regardless of whether he hit? Would he limp UTG with 89o or 89s?

Some may advocate raising the turn, but getting 3 bet on the turn would suck, and makes it even harder to raise river.

Thanks for the validation. Its probably obvious from my post he had 89. Turns out he had 89 of clubs.

If you were the villain, would you 3-bet this flop? I would on the chance my opponent had just overcards, but is that correct? Once you are capped you know you are probably up against more than an overcard draw. So if you whiff the turn knowing this, would you just check/call or lead?

3-betting the flop with 8c9c here is for value, even against an overpair, especially with a 3rd person still in. My reasoning for the 3-bet is NOT because "there's a chance he's just on overcards."

I'm probably checkraising the turn after being capped, but there's also a good opportunity for a bet-3bet on the turn.

You value bet coinflips?

Why not call and let the third guy come along? 3 betting forces him out.

If he is just overcards the 3-bet flop sets up the turn and river donk bluffs. If hes calling down with a strong pair does it add value?
