Default rumor has it, Caesar\'s IN will be 100 tables, soon.

Harrah's will be running WSOP Satelites and etc.

I saw a memo that 3-6 was going the way of the dinosaur and they were going to spread $2-4 and $4-8. Heads up matches would be $25 per half hour per player.

This is a step backwards. THe 4-8 limit is the worst limit a casino can spread. It devours all limits around it. If you spread 3-6 you can spread a 6-12 so players have somethign between teh small games adn a 10-20. If they want to spread somethign smaller thay can have a 1-2; there are a lot of beginners that would play that. If you have 4-8 you can spread an 8-16 but then you need the next game to be 12-24 or 15-30.

I tried to get a 6-12 started Friday night, but there wasn't enough intrest. Everyone is use to playing 5-10 which in my opinion is a terrible game.

Canterbury has 33 tables, and spreads 2/4, 3/6, 4/8, 6/12. 8/16, 15/30 and 30/60. They typically run 4-5 tables at each limit up to 8/16, with 2 tables of 15/30 and 1 table of 30/60.

If Caesar's can support 100 tables, then spreading 4/8 will not cause any problems.

It is very hard to round up interest for a potential game that doesn't go on a regular basis. The card room maangement needs to decide which games to spread. And then open a talbe wiht a dealer so when someone comes and gets on a list for 3-6 the brush can say "we are about to start a 6-12 if you would like a seat in that."

THey can't support 100 table. They might be able to have some tie in with the WSOP and use the tables for live play, but I can't imagine a casino that size using that much space for poker.

If you have the player base to support that many games that isn't a problem, but see the OP post about trying to start a 6-12.

1. This is a rumor and may not be factual and is very likely exagerated.

2. We are in Southern Indiana and anything even slightly different is highly suspect.

the dealers i have spoke to recently have mentioned

1) they will be expanding again within the next year.
2) they will be hosting an event (5k or 10k) on the WPT.

I'm guessing you are combining a couple of different rumors somehow.

Perhaps they are going to try to get a WPT or WSOP-circuit event that will require 100 tables in one of their convention rooms or something like that.

For example, in Tunica the Horseshoe has 16 tables (and used to have 12 I believe) and the Gold Strike has 12 or so tables.
But when the WPO is on during January then they have 80 tables in the Gold Strike convention room...more poker-tables spilling out from the regular poker-room into the hall-way....and the Horseshoe takes out a BJ pit and puts in 20 or so extra poker-tables there in its place.

So they have over 100 tables going between these two places when they have the big tourney going. But at other times they just don't have enough action to support so many tables.

I suspect Caesar's is hoping to get a major tournament and is just considering "Well...if we want to do this can do we have room to set up 100 tables somewhere in here? Yeah...I think they can fit if we do this, that and the other thing."

So it's probably a combination of Caesar's considering expanding their poker-room AND also trying to figure out if they can have 100 tables when the time comes for them to host a major tournament.

All my own personal speculation obviously since I haven't been there and obviously didn't see the memo nor have i hear the rumors (except from you of course).
