Default Frustrating AA

Villain is 47/6 over 100 hands.

PP 50 NL.

Villain min-raises UTG to $1. I have black AA on the button and repop to $4. All others fold and villain calls.

Flop is A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Villain checks, I bet $5, villain folds.

FWIW I would bet $5 here with AK or KK, if checked to. Worth giving off a freebie here?

no

what happened to you, man?

...

what 2nd best hand will they turn that pays off a bet.? Maybe a bluff, I suppose, but just bet the flop and get action from either draw / case ace / PP that thinks you're bluffing.

Most of these minimum preflop raises are either Axs or more likely a small to med pair. Youre not going to get any more out of him the majority of times because he'll miss his set or flush draw and fold.

Could be a turned set of TT, JJ, etc.

Granted, on a rainbow flop I'd feel better about giving a free one for someone to turn a lower set, becuase I doubt he would raise UTG with a wheel-making card.

i don't see why this is frustrating.

you played it fine and villain had no hand to pay you off. you didn't make a mistake, you won money. whats the problem?

i wouldn't like a check here.
