Default Party v Pacific rake

I was under the impression that Party Poker had the worst rake on the net. I just made an account with Pacific because I figured the rake would be better at .5/1, 1/2, and 2/4, I don't play multiple tables, and its supposed to be the home of the most fish.

So, I've been playing there about a week and I did notice that they took only a quarter after $5 for .5/1 and 1/2 as opposed to the 50c that Party takes. Also, by the time the pot reaches $12 Party has taken 75c compared to Pacific's 50c. I think that's pretty significant since a lot of .5/1 pots are in the $5-$15 range and you're saving between 100 and 66%.

Then I sign on today and see that Pacific has changed their rake to the exact same as it is on Party, but it gets worse. At pacific if you make a bet after the flop and take down the pot uncalled, they first drag your bet into the pot, then rake it, and then slide you the pot. At Party they do not include any uncalled bets as part of the rakable pot. This makes a big difference when you make a $1 bet at a $4.50 pot and don't get called. Pacific takes 50c there and Party takes NONE.

In no limit this effect is FAR stronger. If you make a big all in bet or raise they will rake 5% OF YOUR ENTIRE STACK even if you induce a fold. You can actually win a hand outright and lose money. Absurd IMO.

Just wanted to put this out there as an FYI and see if anyone else noticed it.

I saw that on Pacfic too. I'm just there to clear a bonus and then I'm out. I am glad I don't play NL after seeing them do that.

If any experienced players played NL there they should be shot. I have seen casinos live do what Pacific does for limit but that is smarmy and cheap, and a casino that does that doesn't get my action(unless the games are absolutely insane). With the Pacific wild games slowly dieing off and it becoming more rock gardenish I just can't see the point in playing at a site that fucks their players up the ass like this........ It gets even worse. If a player goes all-in and is called for less the side pot is also raked. I have emailed Pacific Poker about these problems and am awaiting a response. The only reason i continue to play there is because they don't have tourneys with thousands of players and it has been easier to make a final table or 2 or 10. It also seems to be the only site i can consitenly win at, but just think of how much extra rake has been take from my bank roll (i think the word we're looking for here is stealing). That being said, customer service at Pacific seems to be pretty good. I've been able to talk to a real person every time i've called, so i think i'll wait to see what their response is before i give up on them.
