Whilde A9s is definately a hand that i will push with at this stage, this situation is an "it depends" for me. namely, how likely is it that i will be able to make it throught the blinds without losing 300 in chips, and how soon will the blinds move up.

Not for me. At this point I would probably put in a 2-3xbb raise and see how the table reacts. If you push, you'll probably only get called by hands that beat you and then what?

You can't wait for a btter hand, the blinds will take 25% of your stack if you fold. A "2-3xbb raise and see how the table reacts" is not recomeded. If someone who covers you, pushes, you'll be getting;[*] 1 - 2.4 in pot odds (802-1902)if you led out with a 2xBB bet[*] 1 - 3.5 in pot odds (602-2102)if you led out with a 3xBB bet
...in other words, you'd have to call a re-raise.

I'd wote for pushing with [A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]] with a 6xBB stack and 5 players left to speak.

I hate A9 in that position because if your called your in deep trouble, but I think it's the best move nonetheless.

It seems theoretically correct to push instead of bet, but I don't know that it's your last or best opportunity to make a stand or do something productive before your chips run out. A number of other people there are going to be pressed to make the exact same decision you are, and it's quite possible that they will do so with a hand that's worse than yours, in which case you reap a benefit from waiting for another hand to make a big move, when either a) they bet into your good hand with an inferior one and you greatly increase your stack, or b) one or more villains eliminates themselves when you're not in the hand, bringing you closer to the money by default.

Anyone who calls you is very likely to have you beat. If you get more than one caller, you've almost certainly just lost the tourney.

I'd feel much better about a push here if you didn't have the worst position on the table.
