Default How to play Spread Limits? I.E. 1-3,2-6?

I think Excalibur offers these games.. Just wondering about the standard rules - SB/BB, betting/raising options on flop, turn, river. Thanks

These games are often very loose-passive also. You can often get in for cheap and then punish them with the full bet when you hit, which favors hands like suited connectors. When you bet, bet it like you mean it and put the max in.

This structure works for you in a couple of ways.

First, it is a passive game and many times you can limp marginal holdings and be paid off when you hit.

Second, you have the ability to raise pf for 3-4 times the BB which invites your looser opponents to make some serious pf errors.

The game at Excalibur was stil good when I was there last month, but there seemed to be more local presence during the day

At the Excalibur, there's a single blind in the spread-limit games. So that's $2 for $2-6 and $1 for $1-3. The $1-3 does not qualify for the mini-jackpot wheel that they have when you get a high hand or aces cracked.
In the games, you have the option of calling the blind or raising $2-6 more (or $1-3 more in $1-3 spread). Then on every subsequent betting round you can bet $2-6 (or $1-3 in the smaller game).
I think Sklansky's Hold'Em for Advanced Players has a chapter on spread-limit games.
As trivia, the former casinos in Biloxi and Gulfport, Miss., used to spread $1-4-8-8 spread limit games.
