Just blurted this out about something and realized it doesn't make much sense to me. Where'd this originate from? Most people are fans of the idea of the man upstairs, is it "awful" in relation to the power of his wrath or something? Or "God have mercy! It's so awful"?

I just don't get it, anyone know anything about this?
