WPT explains blind stealing
So last night I'm flipping around the TV, and catch the "poker corner" where they talk about how you need to steal blinds.
How when it's folded late to you, you should be no matter your cards, how all the greats do it.. etc, etc, etc. They even had Phil H talking about position, and how an upfront raise gets more respect. So my questions 1. WHY MUST THEY TEACH THE FISH? 2. How will the fish screw up this new "knowledge" |

2. How will the fish screw up this new "knowledge" [/ QUOTE ] The same all new poker players screw up when they are learning the game: misapplying the information. Couple the blind stealing advice with Mike Sexton's "always take a stab" advice and you have a player who bets and raises way too much. The counter-strategy to this is not very difficult since his Shania on every street is so f**ked up. |

Re: WPT explains blind stealing
Huh? First of all, it's not advice... it's a fact since they can see the people's cards.
Second, even if it was advice, it's not horrible advice if you are smart about it. |

Re: WPT explains blind stealing
people apply this "knowledge" as advice, and use it to bet out on the river with hopeless hands. then they defend it by quoting MS, after they get called down by mediocre hands.
that's why i hate it. |

Re: WPT explains blind stealing
You hate that your opponents make mistakes that cost them money? Maybe I need more coffee or something... every post I read today is more horrible than the one before it.

Re: WPT explains blind stealing
sigh. take a downer, dude.
i hate it b/c it's nonsense. i understand about wanting my opponents to make mistakes. it's not all that complicated. you see, the thing about poker for me (and just about everyone else) is that i'm not getting rich playing it, and i never will. so bad advice bothers me; oftentimes, my brother or mother repeat this kind of nonsense to me. is that an adequite explanation, or do i get flamed some more? |

Re: WPT explains blind stealing
Stealing and bluffing only worth while with reads.
You dont want to try to steal from some with a VPIP of 40%. They will likely call. That removes some stealing hands. |
