Default Trip-Hop

That's what critics called some groups I used to be into in the mid-late 90s, like Morcheeba, Massive Attack, Tricky, etc. A lot of them either broke up or starting putting out bad records. Any newer artists of a similar style to this?

Morcheeba was classified as trip hop? I find that interesting, as I like chee but never have heard this classification of her stuff before. Maybe my definition of the genre is way off however.

Don't know if these are all trip hop.. close if they're not.

Newer stuff (I think): Lamb, Avalanches, Lovage, Boards of Canada

Older (but maybe new to you): Air, Sneaker Pimps, Portishead, Moloko, DJ Shadow, Hooverphonic

I don't know if this is Trip-Hop, but Leftfield is a kick ass group. Download A Final Hit. This is from the Trainspotting soundtrack.

Mirror Conspiracy, Richest Man in Babylon, and Simple Things are all great albums. I thought the latest from each group was a let-down though.

Besides what's already mentioned, check out Kruder and Dorfmeister and Mark Farina. Not that new either, but i haven't bought many CD's in the last 4 years or so.
