Default 8\'s

Haven't been playing poker for a long time and feeling a bit rusty. 3/6 Party table, fairly average at best. I limp in EMP with interracial 8's (suits unimportant) after 1 early limper. SB, BB come along. 4 to the flop.

Flop: 757 rainbow.

Checked to SB who bets out. He seems to be fairly loose, and often tries to make strategic/stupid bluffs. I've seen him take down a lot of pots uncontested with positional bets and raises, including turn c/r's with less than top pair. EP folds. I call intending to raise the turn no matter what comes, depending in part on BB's action. BB folds. 2 to the turn.

Turn: K.

SB checks. I check intending to raise the river no matter what comes.

Is he more likely to pay off a river raise with a worse hand than he is to call a turn bet with one? Just bet the turn & call down his c/r, or 3-bet the turn if you're feeling froggy.

Raising the river really sucks, because it gives him the chance to fold his bluff (no info for you) or 3-bet you with a better hand.

I don't think he folds a better hand or calls you w/ a worse hand on the river. That makes a river raise pointless. If he checks the river, a bet may fall in w/ the river raise. I may be assuming too much though. Hopefully something <8 falls. In that case I'd bet the river and hope he calls w/ his 5 or A high.
