bet river with AK HU, and monotone flop?
Warning: may be boring, but it's all I got this morning.
Villain is LP and chases. I have AsKd in sb (5 handed). Preflop: UTG calls, 1 fold, button calls, I raise. BB, UTG and button all call. Flop: 10d, 4d, 3d. I bet. BB calls, and others fold. Turn: 7c. I bet, BB calls. River: 4c. I bet? |

Re: bet river with AK HU, and monotone flop?
If he chases then check/call... he'll probably call a bet with any pair anyways now that he missed his diamond, let him bluff when behind and make a mistake by checking when ahead. Fold equity of a superior hand here looks to be about zero.

hmm don't think i like it i probebly go for checkcall here insteed. i don't think he will be calling worse hands that often, i think it's better to check and induce

Re: bet river with AK HU, and monotone flop?
I pause for a second, as if in fear of the paired four, and check-call. He's not folding anything that beats you, right? He may check through a better hand. He may bluff with his missed crappy flush draw.

Wow, it's amazing how clear this answer seems in retrospect. Don't know what I was thinking.

Wow, it's amazing how clear this answer seems in retrospect. Don't know what I was thinking. [/ QUOTE ] Every time you bet the river, think to yourself, "Is this a value bet, AKA will he call with a worse hand". If the answer is no, most of the time checking is the right play. Krishan |

River bet is not good. I'd consider check-folding if he's LP.
