Looking for PS2 Graphic Shootem' Up

After a year of mothballs, I recently fired up the PS2. Been playing GTA3 and am already bored with it. Tried Hitman but it's pretty slow (and you can't just blast away because that ruins your missions).

I solved the first Medal of Honor game. That's pretty much what I'm looking for. Heard bad things about the second one though.

So what game should I get? I want a bloodbath.

I enjoyed Red Dead Revolver a lot but it was a 3rd person shooter (I think you could play in 1st person mode though). Some places sell it for $20 so give it a shot if you see it.

Just ordered Vice City (yes, I'm a couple years behind the curve). Picked it up new online for $19.

I'll work through it before purchasing San Andreas.

Any tips for Vice City? I saw a strategy guide for sale, but I'm a cheapo.

Looking more for fast-paced action and a hail of lead. Could just be a phase, but I'm really looking for chaos.

For example - Now that I've solved GTA3, I'll open it up and cruise around doing drive by's until I get the swat team after me. Then I'll lead them to an ideal location and blast away until I run out of ammo. Restart and repeat. Am I losing my mind? Is there some other game that has this level of action, but in a military genre?

Red Dead Revolver is a pretty good run-around-and-shoot kind of game.

Vice City & San Andreas are both very good, better than GTA 3.

If you liked the first MOH, you'll probably like Call of Duty.

If you liked Socom, you'll probably like Ghost Recon 2. You may also want to look at Conflict Desert Storm I & II.

Freedom Fighters is one of the best games I've played for PS2.
