getting awesome-o turn check-raised
BB is a decent player...not crazy or super aggressive outside what an appropriate TAG should be.
Pokerstars 5/10. I hold KJo in the CO, I open raise. Both blinds call. Flop: AK4r. check to me, I bet, only the BB calls. Turn: 7 (still rainbow). BB check-raises me. I agree that both checking and betting this turn are correct, he is a decent player, not a calling station so a bet could be no good if Im ahead and bad if Im behind, while if he folds to a turn bet, hed be more likely to call my river bet. Anyway, so I bet...Whats my action? Is it simple? Im usually folding this to a passive, calling an tricky/aggressive/lag/likes-to-make-moves player. |

Re: getting awesome-o turn check-raised
like you said, if the opponent isn't a calling station, i prefer a check. your hand isn't very vulnerable, you might induce a river bluff / thin call, and this way you won't be faced with this tough decision.
if you bet tho, i will fold this king here and call down any aces, unless i have reason to believe he's full of it. it's a tough spot and i never really feel happy with my plan here, tho. |

Re: getting awesome-o turn check-raised
I really can't see checking the turn here. K9 would call you down all day long. That being said I would fold this check raise unless he's been playing back at you a lot. But if you do decide to continue 3 betting and folding to a cap is probably better than calling down.

Re: getting awesome-o turn check-raised
eeeeeew what a nasty spot. I like the flop and turn, but if the board is rainbow with no OESD besides 65...i have to think BB has you over a barrel. Maybe even A7 or 44 which you are drawing thin/dead to.
I agree with waffle, fold the K, if you had an A call down and take a note on what this player a) call in the BB with and b) checkraises the turn. |
