Default $22: Two 25/50 hands.

#1

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (8 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

MP2 (t1270)
CO (t1465)
Button (t1760)
Hero (t620)
BB (t350)
UTG (t680)
UTG+1 (t1205)
MP1 (t650)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">4 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">CO raises to t150</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, Hero raises [t620] ...

Cutoff had been tight so far, but I thought that I'm usually ahead the CO raising standards here. My usual raise here would be 200, so I just shoved, since it's close to 30% of my stack. I thought calling was no option since I would have to play this from worst position on the flop, and the BB might join the fun too. Sounds reasonable?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (9 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

BB (t925)
UTG (t757)
UTG+1 (t860)
Hero (t760)
MP2 (t1580)
MP3 (t825)
CO (t725)
Button (t580)
SB (t988)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG calls t50, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to t200</font>, <font color="#666666">6 folds</font>, UTG raises [t707] t50, Hero folds.

Final Pot: t325

This would be easy laydown for me if the villain were tight, but this was a VP$IP %40 loose player and I had seen some showdowns of crap hands from him too.

On the other hand, He's mostly likely holding here is a small pair. So I decided not to take the coinflip so early. Should I call this because there were already 325 on the pot?

1st is pushable (niether folding or calling are egregious)

2nd...vs. loosey? I'm calling

I like the first one just fine, but like Bluefeet said it's close enough that any option is at least not terrible.

The second hand is awful! How can you fold getting 2:1 here with AK? He makes this play with AQ-A9, KQ-KT often enough and even if he flips QQ face up this is an easy call.

Yeah, You and Bluefeet are both right about hand #2. When it occured, I remember thinking about the mantra: "AK is a good hand to go all-in with, but not good hand to call an all-in" and folded. Then realized afterwards the odds I was getting.. and the bubble is not even close yet.

To make things worse, I later saw the same villain limping with AQ on the UTG and playing it like it was AA or something. sigh.
