Default Getting a little crazy preflop?

This is probably about 40 hands into the session. I've seen MP2 limp-fold once already. His postflop play has not brought any special attention, so he's probably "average" postflop. The players acting after me are generally weak tight players (mid-afternoon game). The two previous hands where I've raised preflop, I've taken the pot on either a flop or turn bet.

Is this play a little over the line?

It's fine, but be careful.

A major way that tilt manifests itself in my play is through thinking that I can outplay everyone. This comes after several good reads, some good cards, or several winning pots in a row. I find myself raising 89s UTG, cold calling ATo from a LPP, etc. When I find myself doing that, I turn off Party. Not kidding. I take the dog for a walk, go for a drive around the block, something that lasts 15 minutes.

Just be careful and don't overdo it.

Default Phase 2: The flop

I'm glad that I'm starting off okay. Six months ago, I would have folded this hand preflop...

I would take the free card.

I think for a hand like this, seeing the turn for free is better than the river.

i think you'll hear both sides on this one depending on people's style of play. i get stuck on these hands and seem to just flip a coin to pick, but i have a lot to work on my postflop play.

if i've learned right, you have 3 outs (1.5 for the backdoor flush and 1.5 for the backdoor straight). you have 2 mid cards, so you know what? i'd raise it, but know that if you decide to raise, you'd better be willing to call the reraise.

anyway, that's my thoughts.

You simply must bet. Or you shouldn't have raised in the first place.

I agree. Bet the flop. If they are weak-tight they will fold. This is the beauty of position, you will most likely get to see the river, and with this hand you'd like to see all 5 cards.

Default Phase 3: The turn

Of course, this was a clear bet. Given the weak-tight read, my position, my backdoor draws, and the short-handed pot, following through on the PFR is mandatory.

Onward we go...

i kinda hate the free-card play now, b/c you give up all your fold equity.

Hero bets.

hopefully villain folds.
if he calls and the river blanks, Hero checks behind.
if he calls and you pair something on the river, Hero value bets.
if he raises, Hero folds.
