Default How often do you pull something like this?

No reads on UTG - he just sat down and posted. BB has been around for a short while and is a bit fishy.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (4 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is SB with 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG posts a blind of $0.50.
UTG (poster) checks, Button calls, Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: (4 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
Hero checks, BB checks, UTG bets, Button folds, Hero raises...

I'm just always betting that flop, so I guess I don't run in to that situation much.

Absent reads, in this type of situation, like never.

I don't like for several reasons, #1) The pot is not big. I think you need to get a bigger overlay from the pot to make up for the times that fishy has you beat and for when BB sticks around #2) An ace is on the board. Fishes [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] aces. #3) You have no draw to improve your hand if you are behind.

Basically you're putting 1BB into a 2.5BB bet pot. I think you are folding fishy pretty much 0% of the time if he has any type of hand, and not really that often even if he has nothing. So what do you on the turn, bet again? What about the river?

he's not even last to act. i would never do this if i wanted to play seriously/profitably.

I would neither lead this flop into 3 people nor check-raise after UTG leads it into 3 people.

It's worth pointing out that this dude posted UTG, meaning he's probably donkier/more-prone-to-gamble than most. Still, I'm more inclined to just give him credit and move on here.

If he was last to act, so that there was a decent chance he was autobetting the flop, I'd like this play more. But not when he knows button's there behind him.

Actually that is a good point, hadn't noticed that he posted. That's moves this play from to suck-tastic to marginal.

Good idea since he posted. However, I wouldn't do it with 44 or 55. Higher than middle pair, i.e. 77, and I'd raise it in a heartbeat.
