KK pf with the new party structure

MP3 ($104.16) CO ($762.74) Button ($196.9) SB ($726.18) BB ($477) Hero ($1251.85) UTG+1 ($346.5) MP1 ($109.3) MP2 ($756.13) Preflop: Hero is UTG with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Hero raises to $14, UTG+1 calls $14, MP1 raises to $62, 5 folds, BB raises to $216 The shortstack I wasn't too worried about, figured he was willing to push with a fair number of good hands. I only had about 35 hands with the BB, no real read on him. What would you do? JKratzer |

Re: KK pf with the new party structure
I would re-raise all-in. I like kings.

Re: KK pf with the new party structure
Your stack is deep, their's isn't. Reraise all in.

[ QUOTE ]
Your stack is deep, their's isn't. [/ QUOTE ] Not sure what you mean, the BB had more than a buy-in (~480, buy-in $400). What do you consider deep stacked? Just asking because I was used to the 50BB buyins and now that its 100 it seems deep to me. |

Re: KK pf with the new party structure
deep stacked is a subjective term. I think of 100BB as a short stack because it was in the PL game I started playing. it all depends on the game.
as is always the case with KK facing a PF reraise, it's player dependent. can he put in the 2nd reraise with QQ-JJ/AK? it seems possible that he thinks he has the short stack beat and thus puts him in, but if you all 3 had more money you could probably fold. as it is it's raise or fold, I probably raise allin but could fold against some players. --turnipmonster |

Re: KK pf with the new party structure
If you are even going to fold them preflop, this looks about as good a spot as any. Pity you don't have a read on BB.

"Can he put in the 2nd reraise with QQ-JJ/AK?"
Hardly any player will put in a 3 raise, in the BB, with those hands. BB still has to fear the Hero and he is going to have to play a large pot against the pot committed player. The BB bet here is AA 90+% of the time |

Re: KK pf with the new party structure
Lets see.
An MP player sees (a pretty good player??) put in a raise c(I am strong) from UTG (why only $14 btw?).... ....UTG+1 smooth calls that (I am strong...I will call your UTG raise!).... ...then MP player decides still to raise despite the strength shown.... (I am strong)... ....then, the BB seeing all this, and being OOP still decides he is going to play. At this point, you only have $14 invested and it is quite likley that you are against an AA from one of the other THREE people in this thrice raised pot. With only $14 invest, despite the "short stacks" as some put it (you are still risking ~ 40% of your stack) I feel that this is one of the rare times that I lay down KK preflop. jw |

Thanks for the responses guys. I folded KK. Short stack had QQ, BB had AKo. First time I've folded KK pf incorrectly. I guess he was going for an isolation raise against the shortstack and didn't consider me calling that much.
