Re: 55 hand
i think its messed up, and i think you lose here.... but i cant work out why.
if its any consolation i play it exactly the same. Edit: Ive looked at this hand for ages now.... it seems like he was scared of the straight, and calls the turn praying the board pairs. then it does and suddenly he comes to life. having the lowest possible boat isnt a great position to be in.... i guess.... unless he just has AK aha |

Re: 55 hand
I guess im most concerned about my river 3-bet...at the time i was hoping he had AK, but looking back at the hand i really dont think a K + high card is in his hand range. I mean how often do you see a fish limp-reraise with AK and then bet into a flop that completely misses their hand?

Re: 55 hand
Looks good.
If you lose to 66, 55, (KK will make me giggle - sorry) But you played it fine. |

Re: 55 hand
When I looked at this hand, it looked fine to me.
I see your point about a preflop limp reraiser being likely to have either AA or KK. However, I expect that I would also have 3-bet the river. KK was a possibility for villain, but some players do play their hands strangely. I wouldnt worry too much about your play if you lost to KK quads. Quads are quite rare and you had a very strong hand. |

Re: 55 hand
If I HAVE to find a problem with this hand, it's preflop: you're OOP, calling a non-steal raise from a rock, getting around 4:1 on a hand that is only 8:1 to improve on the next street and likely has to improve in order to be played past the next street.
However, I think many of us make the same call without thinking about it. Once you're in the hand I think you played it fine. If he had raised the turn with his KK, how would that have changed the way you played the rest of the hand (hint: I think UTG lost 6-8 bets by not raising when his set hit on the turn...MP1 or CO would have stayed to see the river, I expect, if not both)? |

Re: 55 hand
I like it. No one else had been acting like they had a set before the board paired. And you have a full house. Cap, and cry if you lose.
Edit: Yeah, quads is a possibility, too, but then cry even harder if that happens -- it happens to us all, but you still have to be very aggressive with your very strong hands like FH. |
