Default $5+ 1 tourney on PP hand

Ok guys. I need some opinions on this hand. We're down to about 150 players out of a thousand in a $5 no-limit tourney. The blinds are 200-400. I've got around 6800 chips. There are two limpers, the SB (6900 chips) calls, and I check in BB with Q6 off. the flop comes Q-10-6 rainbow and small blind makes a minimum bet. I put him on Q high kicker and quickly reraise all-in with my two pair. Every one else folds to SB. He thinks about it for 30 seconds, then calls. He's got AQ and spikes the A on the turn, putting me out.
Now, I read him correctly, but since he had no read on me, he could of been thinking bluff. I'm not really looking to just finish in the money in a tourney that puny, so I took a chance on doubling up big and making a run into the final table. Was it a good play at this stage in the tourney? Or should I have raised, let him call, then fold on his big turn bet and lived to fight another day?
