Finding the Fold Button with AK?
SB is tight and fairly passive 20/4/.7 over 79 hands
MP3 has managed to find 9 hands to play out of the 11 he's been at the table. Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is CO with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 5 folds, MP3 calls, Hero raises, 1 fold, SB calls, 1 fold, MP3 calls. Flop: (7 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) SB bets, MP3 raises, Hero 3-bets, SB calls, MP3 calls. Turn: (8 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, MP3 checks, Hero bets, SB raises, MP3 folds, Hero... In the heat of battle I called, but I think that him calling the 3-bet and CR'ing the turn should have been enough to send this one to the muck. What do you think? |

yes in hindsight I'd let TPTK go, but I know that I can get really indignant at times with this hand and wouldn't fault you for calling it down after the turn CR

Re: Finding the Fold Button with AK?
You're getting 6:1 to call down, so at the very least it's not a big mistake. Plus I think the chance he has K5 or worse is high.

Against this particular sequence of betting this is a easy fold

Re: Finding the Fold Button with AK?
I think those stats are just enough to call this guy a 'typical' tightish-player. And I think vs this profile, your top pair is no good here (a check-raise on a turn blank after a lot of action on flop). There is an outside chance he is semi-bluffing... But I would say that the odds of this are relatively low (and he will convert his semi-bluff ~20% of the time anyway). I used to always call this down but in my experience, you are better off letting go of this hand vs this particular opponent.

Call. Do you see why? I'll let others elaborate.

uh, the 'field' is one guy. maybe because he understands poker and likes to play good hands aggressively... |

Call. Do you see why? I'll let others elaborate. [/ QUOTE ] No, maybe we don't. But instead of you letting someone else enlighten us, why don't you explain it - it's apparently a very easy concept for you. |
